What We Value

Welcome to CCCS High School! We are training the Christian leaders of tomorrow! It is our desire that your student is equipped with the tools necessary to become a Christian leader in any situation that the Lord may guide them into after they graduate from our school. Thus, you will see that our school is consistently looking for ways to integrate our faith into every discipline and to proclaim the Lord through every area of our school. Our staff seeks to invest in each student’s life and disciple them in their walk with the Lord during their time at CCCS.

Along with an emphasis on discipleship, CCCS seeks to maintain high academic standards. We are continuously looking for ways to challenge students with rigorous curriculum, assignments, and learning experiences that will help prepare students for education at the collegiate level. Staff collaborate together in reviewing data from standardized assessments, curriculum guides, benchmark exams, and student work to ensure that we are offering a solid educational experience. CCCS is pleased to offer honors courses and AP courses for students who are wishing to advance in their studies. Additionally, our math and science programs are aligned so that advanced students can quickly move through math and science beginning in junior high in order to enroll in higher math and science courses in high school. Additionally, CCCS offers an Early College Program (ECP) in conjunction with Hope International University (HIU). Students who participate in the ECP are dual enrolled in CCCS and HIU and will receive both HS and college credit. It is our desire to continue to add courses to our ECP offerings so that CCCS students can take advantage of taking college courses while still enrolled at CCCS.

20/20 Vision

“Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keeps the Word, happy is he.” Proverbs 29:18

It is an exciting time to join the Grizzly family! This school just celebrated 40 years serving our community and as we continue to move forward, we are excited to see what the Lord will do this year.

The leadership of Calvary Chapel Christian School understands the rich diversity and exceptional people who make up our community. Providing a Christian education with a vision and passion for the young lives is a high calling and a humbling honor for all of us at CCCS.

As a parent of 3 adults whom all graduated from CCCS and over 30 years of being involved in this school, I personally understand the deep need for quality, enriching Christ centered education that prepares the hearts and minds of our young to become impactful leaders in the future. We value service to others and recognize that a leader must first be a servant. Service to God and service to others is the ultimate point and purpose of education.

True Christian education consists of developing critical reasoning skills in students who can ascertain the various underlying worldview from publishers, authors, teachers, coaches, media, entertainment and the world around them, and compare those views to a Christian worldview. Our exceptional academics, athletics, and expressive arts programs all function together to build the character and gifts uniquely inherent in each child. From our Pre-school program which lays a firm foundation in the social, emotional, physical and mental development of the young, to our K-12 school emphasizing 21st-century learning modalities with a focus on science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics (STEAM), students will be equipped with the tools necessary to pursue the college and career opportunities of the future.

We desire our students to be curious active learners who investigate, question, analyze and explore with their hands, their hearts and their minds. These things happen when experienced and inspired faculty lead willing students who are strongly supported by an engaged and caring community.

As we look to our future, we are committed and will continue to invest in the lives of the students, in the lives of the parents, and in the lives of our dedicated and highly trained faculty and staff.

We encourage you to learn more about our Calvary Chapel Christian School community and join our family as we engage in our mission and high calling. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at jmendez@calvarydowney.org or at 562-803-4076
