GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Monthly ESLR (May): This month's ESLR is TRAINED AMBASSADORS who employ effective verbal and written communication skills to clearly express ideas, truths, and convictions as a spirit-filled representative of the gospel of Jesus Christ. (2 Corinthians 5:20) “Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.”

Plan Ahead: 5/28 Class of 2020 Israel Trip Info Meeting 5pm in the Cafe | 5/29 8th Grade Promotion @1pm| 5/30 Sr. Brunch @ 9am| 5/31 12th Grade Graduation @2pm

2019/2020 Textbooks “Parent Textbook Exchange/Sale” Tues., 6/4 in the South Sanctuary, from 2pm – 6pm. Follett Online Bookstore Opens Mon., 6/3.  The website is: www.bkstr.com/ccdowneystore/home

Yearbook Signing: Our handbook reads, “Students who deface or write inappropriate remarks in another student’s yearbook will be subject to disciplinary action and/or may be required to replace the yearbook or the replacement cost of the yearbook.” We want every word that comes from our mouth to edify others and to bring glory to God.

Finals Week Discipline: Any students participating in pranks or arriving to school out of dress code during finals week will be sent home and will have to come on Fri., May 24 at 8am to make up their test.

Lost and Found: Check the lost and found for any items you may be missing. All items will be donated if not claimed by Tues., 5/28.

Library Fines/Overdue Books: Students, you must pay all library fines and return all library books on or before Thursday, 5/23. Any fines or fees not taken care of will be billed to your account.

Medications:  If you currently have medication stored in the office, please be sure to pick it up before the end of the school year.

Locker Clean Out:  Students can start cleaning out their lockers beginning Fri., 5/17. Once you take your final, you should take those books home.  All lockers (including athletics) need to be completely cleaned out by Thursday, 5/23.  On Tues., 5/28 all items left in the lockers will be discarded.

Textbooks: Students, you should obtain your parents’ permission before donating your textbooks. If your parents agree to donate your books, turn them in to the High School office.

Attention Pre-Algebra Students: Reminder, your Pre-Algebra Textbook is a rental and will need to be turned in to the Library by Thurs., 5/24 (last day of school). If you do not return it to the Library your parents will be billed the current cost to replace it.

Summer School: This summer we are planning to offer Fundamentals of Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I and Geometry. Summer school is an option for students to advance in math or to improve/make-up their math grade. Summer school is 6/3 – 7/12 from 8am-12pm. If you are interested in signing up for summer school you can pick up a registration form in the JH/HS office registration forms are due on or before Fri., 5/24. Graduation Dress Code: Seniors, the Dress Code in the Student Handbook still applies for graduation even under your graduation gown.

Seniors: Congratulations as you get ready to graduate, we are so proud of you! Please keep in mind any pranks or vandalism will lead to serious disciplinary action.

Senior Final Transcripts: Seniors, if you need your final transcript for colleges or other purposes, please add your name to the sign-up sheet on the counter in the HS Office. Transcripts will be ready for pick up/mailed out the week of June 10th. Keep in mind the first 5 are free and any additional copies are $5 each. If you have any questions see Mrs. Cotton.

Our Summer Sports season is quickly approaching! Your parents were emailed forms or you can visit the Athletic Office for more information.
