Visual Arts

Fine arts are one of the ways we integrate the Word into our curriculum, as we watch the students learn and grow in the Lord through the gifts He has given them.  High school students have both visual and performing arts available for them to study.

Drawing

teaches students how to draw realistically using various drawing techniques and materials. Students draw a wide range of subject matter including still life, landscape, portrait, figure, and animals.

Painting

teaches students about color theory while using various painting techniques and media. Students paint a wide range of subject matter including still life, landscape, portrait, animals, and abstraction.

Sculpture

teaches students how to work with clay to create a wide variety of ceramic objects. Students are also introduced to throwing on the pottery wheel and other sculptural materials.

AP 2D Studio Art

is an intensive, college-level class wherein students complete 24 artworks in preparation for the AP portfolio. Students work independently to follow their unique vision for their artwork.

Photography

teaches students how to use a digital SLR or point-and-shoot camera to take dynamic photographs and introduces students to using Adobe Photoshop. Students display their work at the Night of the Arts and produce a portfolio of their work.
