Pastor Roger Stahlhut
Pastor Roger Stahlhut joined our staff in June 2014 as School Administrator and Principal for our Junior High and High School. He has served in the field of education for 35 years, teaching in a public school for 20 years as a History Teacher, Special Education Teacher, Football Coach, Wrestling Coach and was also a Department Chairman of Physical Education. Pastor Roger graduated from the University of Oregon with a major in History and a minor in Physical Education. In addition, He holds a lifetime California Teaching Credential. Pastor Roger founded Open Door Christian Academy, and assisted to start the New Horizon Christian School in Klamath Falls, Oregon. As an Assistant and Senior Pastor over the last 26 years, he has led numerous foreign mission trips to Russia, the Philippines, Mexico and India, as well as leading many mission trips throughout the United States in "Revive America".
Mrs. Peggy Kravig
Peggy has been on staff at CCCS since 2001. She currently holds an Administrative position as Dean of Students. She loves working with the students and desires to inspire them to love Jesus more. Having the privilege of being an influence in the lives of young people is a great blessing and honor to her. Peggy received her Biblical counseling training from Calvary Chapel Bible College and Moody Bible Institute. She has been involved in various aspects of Biblical counseling ministries over the past 35 years here at Calvary Chapel.
Mrs. Diana Norton
Mrs. Norton has taught 4th grade and has held various administrative positions at CCCS. Before CCCS, Mrs. Norton taught various grade levels in a public school for 10 years. She feels that she is a teacher by nature and enjoys working with students and adults. Mrs. Norton earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Child Development from California State University, Los Angeles. She also holds a California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with a bilingual, cross-cultural, language and academic development emphasis (BCLAD,) from the California State University at Dominguez Hills. Currently, as College Counselor she assists students in their future college plans.
Mr. Mike Nuno
Mike Nuño is a Calvary Chapel Christian School Alumnus. He has earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Athletic Training from California State University, Long Beach and also earned his credential as a BOC-Certified Athletic Trainer. Mr. Nuño has served as our Athletic Director since 2013 and also serves as our Head Football Coach, Head Track & Field Coach, Athletic Trainer and assists on various committees including our Alumni Fellowship, School Promotion, Fundraising and School Safety.
Dr. kristina young-goodner
Dr. Young-Goodner attended CCCS from K-12 before she went on to earn Bachelor of Music Degrees in Vocal Performance and Music Education along with a California Teaching Credential from Biola University. She also holds a Master’s in Education from Biola, as well as a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Azusa Pacific University. In addition being the Director of our Vocal Music Program, Dr. Young-Goodner functions as a Master Teacher for CCCS and Biola University, is an adjunct professor at Hope International University, and is a member of the accreditation agency WASC. This coming year, she will be stepping into the role of vice-principal in the High School.
Mrs. Mayie Advincula
Mrs. Advincula received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and her Master’s Degree in Political Science at the University of the Philippines. She also holds a Master of Arts Degree in Educational Administration from Hope International University. She is currently working on her Single Subject Credential and plans to pursue an Administrative Credential as well. This school year, she is teaching 12th Grade Government/Economics and JH/HS Computers.
MRS. MICHELLE BRANCH
Mrs. Branch holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Liberal Studies/Education Studies from California State University in Long Beach. Mrs. Branch teaches Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, and Fundamentals of Math for both JH and HS. Besides teaching, her other passion is sports. Mrs. Branch also coaches High School cross country, girls soccer, and track and field.
Mrs. Rhodora Brouillette
Rhodora Brouillette graduated from the University of Santo Tomas with a Bachelors Degree in Education, and she also completed her Masters Degree in Special Education-teaching the deaf and hard of hearing children (MA-SPED HI), from the Philippine Normal University. She has been involved in the sign language profession as a SPED Teacher and Sign Language Interpreter as well as a Cued Speech Transliterator for the deaf and hard of hearing students for many years. She is currently teaching ASL I-II-III here at CCCS.
MRS. NELLY CAMPOS
Mrs. Campos is blessed to have the opportunity to serve at CCCS. She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from UC Irvine and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from California State University, Los Angeles. Mrs. Campos has had teaching experience in both public and Christian school settings throughout her career. Mrs. Campos is excited to to be teaching Physical Science, and Life Science.
Mr. Patrick Chadwell
Mr. Chadwell earned an Associate of Science degree in Electronics Engineering Technology from National Education Center in Commerce, CA. He and his family have been attending CCD for almost two decades, where he has served in various ministries. Mr. Chadwell currently teaches in the Bible Department for HS, and leads the "Chosen Generation" JH boys' discipleship group.
Mrs. ANTOINETTE Duran
Mrs. Duran earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Biblical & Theological Studies from Biola University as well as a Master of Arts degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University. Mrs. Duran is currently working on a Doctorate of Education in Organizational Leadership with an Emphasis in K-12 Leadership from Grand Canyon University. Mrs. Duran teaches World History, 11th grade U.S. History, and ECP History where students receive dual credit for high school and college. In addition to teaching, Mrs. Duran is our High School Varsity Cheering Coach.
Mr. Keith Durflinger
Mr. Durflinger teachers yearbook at CCCS. He attended Rio Hondo College and Cal State Long Beach majoring in Journalism/Photojournalism. He has worked as a photojournalist for over 30 years with newspapers including the Whittier Daily News, Pasadena Star-News, L.A. Daily News and the Orange County Register. He serves as a ministry leader in the sound ministry at Calvary Chapel La Mirada.
Ms. Janette Fragoso
Janette Fragoso joined our faculty in the 2011/2012 school year. She is a graduate from the class of 2006, Miss Fragoso is another of the many alumni teaching here at CCCS. Miss Fragoso earned her bachelor’s degree in Social Work at Azusa Pacific University and is looking forward to another exciting year teaching Spanish I, II and III at the High School level.
Ms. Amy Harris
Miss Amy Harris earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Biology with a Minor in Theological Studies from Biola University. Miss Harris is currently teaching Physical Science, Biology, Honors Biology, and ECP Anatomy and Physiology while pursuing her single subject Teaching Credential and Master's Degree in Education from Hope International University. She is eager to share her passion for God and science with her students.
Mr. Andrew Hernandez
Andrew Hernandez is an alumnus of CCCS. He holds a Music in Worship Bachelor of Science degree from Biola University, with an emphasis in Piano Performance. At CCCS, he played in the Worship Band, the Marching/Pep Band and in the Jazz Band. He has been a worship leader for many years and has helped train young worship teams in the LA area and has taught private music lessons in piano, guitar, bass, drums and saxophone for over 10 years. In addition to overseeing the HS and JH worship teams, he is the director for the Elementary Band and JH/HS Band and teaches the contemporary piano/guitar class as well.
Mr. Steve Jahnkow
Steve Jahnkow earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of La Verne. He has served at CCCS numerous years as a Junior High and High School teacher in various subjects. Mr. Jahnkow currently teaches 12th grade Bible, an in depth study of Apologetics, and is the head coach of the baseball program.
MR. Matthew Jarrin
Mr. Jarrin is a 2015 alumni. He has attended CCCS from elementary to high school. He is a former Calvary Chapel wrestler and a former assistant wrestling coach. He studied at Calvary Chapel Bible College and He is attending Cerritos College to get his degree in speech/communications. He has been serving in the youth ministry for the past 5 years, Matthew sees the importance of Jesus being the foundation for a healthy lifestyle. Mr. Jarrin will be our new boys Jr. High and High school Physical Education teacher. He is beyond thrilled to show our students the importance of staying healthy and how we can make physical exercise fun.
Mrs. Amber Linn
Mrs. Linn one of our High School English teachers. She currently teaches 11th grade English for both College Prep and Honors. She also teaches the ELD class for our International Students. She began her upper education at Northwestern College in Minnesota before transferring to Long Beach State where she completed her bachelor’s degree in Psychology.
Mr. Bob Kemblowski
Coach Bob Kemblowski has been on Staff for the past four years instructing the Strength and Conditioning classes. He has been weight training for 45 years. Coach Kemblowski won numerous gold medals in both team and individual competitions and currently still holds six national and two world records. Coach Kemblowski’s focus is to introduce the students to the proper techniques of training with weights and core conditioning. The ultimate goal of The Strength and Conditioning Class is to get the student bigger, stronger and faster.
Mrs. Devin Loreto
Coach Devin Loreto is an alumnus of CCCS, graduate of 2004. Currently serving as the girls PE Teacher, Elementary PE Teacher, HS Girl’s Soccer Coach, and Track & Field Assistant Coach. Coach Loreto graduated from CSULB in 2014 with her B.A. in Recreation and Leisure Studies, as well as a certificate in Non-profit Management and Therapeutic Recreation. She had worked for the City of Downey for over ten years providing various program activities and sporting events.
Mr. Daniel Lopez
Daniel Lopez is an alumnus of CCCS, graduating in the class of 2006. During his time at Calvary, he wrestled for the school and later volunteered as an assistant coach after High School graduation. Mr. Lopez earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from California State University, Fullerton. Mr. Lopez currently teaches Algebra I, Algebra II, Physics, and is also the head wrestling coach for both the High School team and Junior High program.
Ms. Monica Manjarrez
Ms. Manjarrez holds an Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Studies and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from California State University Dominguez Hills. She will receive her Masters Degree in Education Administration from Hope International University in December 2018. Ms. Manjarrez has experience teaching in both public and private school settings. She teachers 9th & 10th grade English and enjoys coaching our girl’s Powder Puff team.
Mrs. Darleen Mayorga
Darleen Mayorga is an alumnus of CCCS. She holds an English degree from California State University Los Angeles. She went on to earn her credential and Masters in Teaching from Biola University. She has taught English for eight years in the high school and will now be teaching both 12th grade English and junior high English.
Mrs. Aracely Mendoza
Aracely Mendoza comes with a business background of 22 years. Owning her own business, she was able to develop many valuable skills which she is now very happy to use at CCCS. Her involvement in the Missions Ministry and taking many of our students to the Orphanage in Mexico, planning and preparing meals for approximately 100 people has equipped her to teach the Cooking/Culinary Arts Classes. This year she has also stepped into the role as the International Student Director. She is blessed to be able to use her gifts and talents to pour into her students.
Mr. Tim Osterhoudt
Tim Osterhoudt earned a Master's of Engineering Degree in Process Engineering from California State University at Pomona. He also earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from California State University at Long Beach. He serves CCCS as a High School teacher in various subjects. Mr. Osterhoudt currently teaches Pre-Calculus, Chemistry, AP Chemistry, Calculus, ECP Calculus and AP Physics at the High School level.
Ms. Michelle Perkins
Michelle Perkins is an alumnus of CCCS; she played volleyball and basketball, as well as competed in shot put and high jump in track & field. Miss Perkins then went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Mathematics, along with her Multiple-Subject and Single-Subject Teaching Credentials. Currently, Miss Perkins is teaching JH and HS Fundamentals of Math.
Mrs. Sheila Rodriguez
Sheila Rodriguez earned a Bachelors Degree in Art with an emphasis in Drawing and Painting as well as a Masters of Fine Art from Long Beach State University. She has shown her work at several galleries and museums across the U.S. including the Museum of Latin American Art and the Orange County Center for Contemporary Art. Mrs. Rodriguez is excited to be teaching AP Art, Sculpture, Drawing, Painting, Photography, and Jr. High Art.
Mr. Geoff Smith
Mr. Smith has been a part of Calvary Chapel for more than 20 years. After helping to plant a church in Irvine, CA, he move to Ukraine and served as a missionary and a pastor for nearly 10 years. Mr. Smith received his Bachelor of Science degree from UCLA in Applied Mathematics. He has also graduated from the Calvary Chapel School of Ministry and is in the process of earning his Master's in Education with an emphasis in Secondary Level Mathematics from Hope International University.
Mrs. Bernadette Cotton
Bernadette Cotton has been working at Calvary Chapel Christian School for the past 18 years. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience of the interior workings of CCCS. Over the 18 years, Bernadette has worked in numerous departments which include the Lunchroom, Summer Day Camp, Accounting, HS TSR, Athletics and the Junior High/High School Office. Currently Bernadette has taken the role as JH/HS Registrar. She thoroughly enjoys serving in the Junior High & High School and loves interacting with the parents and students. Bernadette is married and has 3 wonderful children and 1 granddaughter. Her life verse is Psalm 71.
Mrs. Denisse Cardenas
Denisse has been our High School ASB Director for the past four years. Prior to ASB Director she worked in our Pre-School as a Pre-School teacher. She works alongside the high school students encouraging them to be the student leaders of the school. These students organize and serve at all of the schools events. Her main goal is to increase and encourage both school spirit and Spirituality on our campus.
Mrs. Patricia Maciel
Patricia has been working with CCCS since 2014 as a Junior High/High School Secretary. She enjoys being available to help students and parents. She worked as a Office Secretary at CCD from 1982 to 1989 when she decided to become a stay home mom. She has been a Pastor’s Wife since 1985 and feels privileged to support her husband in ministry all these years. She is blessed with two beautiful daughters.
Mrs. Heather Naaktgeboren
Heather is new on staff to CCCS. She currently is the Office Manager for the Junior High & High School office. Heather has been attending Calvary Chapel Downey since 1979 and has been involved in various ministries here. She graduated from Calvary Chapel Bible College in 1995 with Associates in Theology. Heather has been a pastor’s wife for 17 years, mother to 4 teenagers, and has spent the last 10-1/2 years on the mission field in South Africa with her family where Pastor Chad, her husband of 18 years, planted Calvary Chapel Johannesburg in 2007.
Mrs. Staci Nieves
Staci has been in the Athletic Office for the last 6 years, she is blessed to be helping & interacting with students, parents and coaches. Prior to being in the Athletic Office, she served in the High School Office, and as a Teacher’s Assistant on the Elementary side. Staci is married to her husband of 25 years, has 2 children, a daughter who attended CCCS from K-12, graduating in 2014 and a son who is in the 10th grade with the Grizzly Academy. God is good and faithful!
